Defiant Celtic's manager shows no fear of being fired however Celtic fans display anger after derby defeat.
Wilfried Nancy declared he had no concerns about the sack, asserting, “We are really close to a turnaround,” even after moving dangerously close to being fired with a comprehensive defeat by the Ibrox side.
Another Collapse Sees Derby Defeat
The Hoops were ahead their oldest rivals at the interval but a disastrous second period enabled the Gers to draw level on points with the defending league title holders. The French coach, who was hired from the MLS, has now been in charge for six defeats in his last eight matches.

“The outcomes [that leads to pressure]. So this is the reality for the moment. But in stating this is the reality, I am not saying that I am pessimistic. Absolutely not. What I mean we are on the cusp, really, really close to turn things around.”

Nancy highlights the fact the side can perform strongly for one half at a time. Indeed, were it not for wastefulness in front of goal they might have been greater than 1-0 up. “I saw enough other than the fact that we haven’t scored more goals,” he said. “I accept that we lost, but I must remain objective.
“The level we had at stages was exceptionally high. That is a fact. And I would not say that if it was different. That is the reason, in terms of results, I noted this is the same story. For that reason I feel a change is coming to things turning around. Right now: details, details, details.”
“There were a lot of encouraging signs that we did, like today again. However is sustaining it. My outlook would change if I didn't believe it. That’s why I am convinced the team can to turn things around.”
Röhl’s Cautious Outlook
The victorious boss refused to contemplate a title charge even after what felt like a huge result. “Step by step, and we can really build up something here,” he said. “The belief in the group is excellent.”
