Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.
For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's new record, the new release, is available on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0

It is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
