English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The three finalists have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.

The finalists were announced live on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The event will be televised from 7 PM GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

His success continued - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
